Lithium-ion Power Tool Batteries

If you want to buy a cordless tool, then you should really therefore goes to think one with lithium-ion power tool batteries. They cost more, and it is easy to think you could only buy a cheaper model, and you get a spare battery, but it is not same. Lithium-ion batteries are a true hassle-free solution.

Lithium batteries or lithium-ion, as it is often called, have a lot to offer, when one in cordless tools. You have the double power density than other rechargeable types, so you get a smaller and lighter instrument. It is not only the power density that makes small, has three times the voltage of a normal cell so it takes only one-third of the cells on the same output voltage to get each Li ion cell.

Li-ion cells have a good peak output current and low source resistance. If the tool overload remains on the voltage, and they just keep pumping in the motor current. Power tools are travel thermal overload in the engines, and that the engine is a good thing with Li-ion batteries, if it were easy to burn them!

And there is absolutely no memory effect charging that is best in Li-ion batteries(Makita batteries). And they load up quickly. Battery manufacturer always likes to say, they have reduced the memory effect or even 'virtually excluded"is. But it is never true, can point away half-full with the load of the battery and back, but if one topping on it to keep then the capacity always goes down. With Li-ion, they do not need the memory effect to reduce, is not only there.

I am using a Makita 18 Volt drill with Li-ion batteries. It is a bit smaller and lighter than ordinary and 18V Cordless drill, but it is as powerful as the best NiMh battery drill, and makes NiCad those seem like toys. But it has twice the work of the other drills between the load operations.

Li-ion batteries can be replenished, whenever you want, and you can them dressed again, even if they had not time to load completely. Use the tool every morning, during lunch, set the battery charge, use it again the whole afternoon. You have never stop working to go and change the battery.

Li-ion batteries have a low self-discharge and, i.e. the battery charged longer stays if you don't use it it.I also a Milwaukee Sawzall with Li-ion batteries. For some jobs, which I will with all day, and put it in the night for free. But much time am I simply use the odd editing here and there, and I simply don't bother loading it. It is never unloads itself, think I not saw that battery has already once flat, but I only charge for the big jobs.
