Canon and Nikon Digital Camera Score Best in Test
Digital camera brands are Canon and Nikon this year co champions. Readers again rewarded Canon for the production of long-life cameras, high-quality LCD screens, and for the collection of attractive pictures. Nikon owners liked the LCD screen, shutter speed, and the picture quality of their cameras, but said that the cameras were relatively difficult to use,digital camera battery is also different.
Highlighted in the two charts below are our survey participants' ratings of digital camera manufacturers in two general areas: reliability and features. These results are drawn from our 2011 Reliability and Service survey of some 63,000 PCWorld readers. The other product categories covered in this survey were desktop PCs, laptop PCs, tablets, HDTVs, printers, and smartphones. For a closer look at the methodology we used in our survey to gauge manufacturer reliability and customer satisfaction, see "Reliability and Satisfaction: What the Measures Mean."
Notes and Quotes Several points of statistical interest jumped out at us when we reviewed the survey results in this category, and one participant seemed to speak for many on the subject of usability:
• Canon beat the rest of the field in our survey on percentage of users reporting any significant problem with their camera over the past three years. Only 5.4 percent of Canon camera owners reported such a problem, versus 6.5 percent for owners of any brand of digital camera.
• Another win for Canon: 89.5 percent of Canon camera owners described themselves as "extremely satisfied" or "very satisfied" with their camera's picture quality.
• On our ease-of-use measures, survey participants rated Pentax and Kodak highest (as "extremely easy to use" or "very easy to use") and Fujifilm, Nikon, and Olympus lowest.
• Since 2007, camera ease of use has been declining steadily, from 64 percent of participants rating their camera as extremely or very easy to use in 2007 to 58.6 percent doing so in 2011.
• Camera owners in our survey reported significantly different rates of severe problems that rendered their cameras inoperable within three years of purchase. The rates for the seven biggest brands (in descending order) were as follows: Kodak (4.1 percent), Samsung (3.9 percent), Fujifilm (3.3 percent), Olympus (3.0 percent), Canon and Nikon (2.5 percent each), and Panasonic (1.5 percent).

How to Deal With Rechargeable batteries Now in New York
Today rechargeable battery is more and more used by people ,recycling battery is a very important thing. The Rechargeable Battery Law, signed by then-Gov. David Paterson a year ago, prohibits the disposal of rechargeable batteries as in laptops or cameras in non-recyclable containers.
The ban includes cell phone batteries, which are typically replaced every 18 to 24 months, and rechargeable alkaline batteries. The batteries must be returned to recycling bins in the retail sector.In June, retailers were required, recycling containers for the consumer offer in their stores if she sold batteries. Small grocery stores that sell rechargeable batteries, are excluded.
Will provide the containers can result in fines of up to $5,000 for the retail trade. Individuals who have proven you have knowingly thrown out the batteries, threatening fines of $50 for a first offence and $100 for a second would be.
"Those disposal bans are very difficult to enforce. The law covers most rechargeable dry cell, non-vehicular batteries weighing less than 25 pounds. It lists any rechargeable battery as ones using nickel-cadmium, sealed lead, lithium ion or nickel metal hydride.
"I think it's going to make a significant impact in keeping toxic chemicals out of landfills and other places where it can do harm in our environment," said Assemblyman Robert Sweeney, D-Suffolk County, chairman of the Assembly Committee on Environmental Conservation.
Haight and Sweeney said the law was successful in placing the outlets and the number of people with them so far. Battery manufacturers are required that get collected batteries and one annual report to the State Department of environmental conservation.
"It puts primary responsibility on the manufacturers and the retailers to deal with it on the back end, when it is being disposed of," Sweeney said.
Most of batteries is rechargeable batteries,such as replacement laptop battery, power tool battery,digital camera battery ,camcorder battery, NetBook & MID battery, mobile phone batteries and so on.
