New camera's are loads of fun, and the latest digital camera's from Canon or any other manufacturer for that matter, take a little getting used to. Here is some basic information on how to charge the battery on your Canon camera!
First thing you need to do is remove the camera's battery. Do this sliding the door that is located on the bottom of the camera over with your thumb so that you can hinge it open.
Next, press the little tab that is holding the battery in place and it should easily slide out.
With the battery out, line up the three small metal plates with the three metal prongs on the charger and slide the battery into the charger.
Now plug the charger into an outlet and a yellow light will turn on to let you know it is charging.

The Way of Testing a Laptop Battery
Testing a laptop battery allows you to determine if it has any remaining charge. The best way to test a battery is to connect it to a laptop and turn the unit on. However, there are several other ways to determine if your laptop battery has any charge.

Test your laptop battery with a test light. Check the test light first to make sure it works. Connect the light to a metal ground source. Check the test light on a battery that you know works. If the test light glows, it's good. Place the light's test end into the battery's positive port. If the light glows, your battery is good.
